[eNews] Finance Paper Receives Recognition at Virtual Conference in India

In August, Assistant Professor Arkodipta SARKAR from the Department of Finance presented his paper at the virtual Summer Research Conference – an annual flagship event hosted by the Centre for Analytical Finance (CAF) at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, India. The paper won the best paper award at the conference.

Entitled “Policy Uncertainty, Multinational Firms, and Reallocation”, Professor Sakar’s paper examined the association between economic policy uncertainty (EPU) of a country and the increase of investments by multinational firms in other regions. The study utilizes establishment-level data of mining firms as an example to demonstrate how multinational firms can potentially stabilize the escalation of shock from uncertain regional policies.
