[eNews] Closing the Gender Gap in Business Education

Business schools are a driving force to advocate for gender inclusivity in the business sector. As an international leader in business education, the HKUST Business School provides world-class education and fosters an inclusive mindset in educating business talent.

We are delighted to report that the School is listed as one of the top 20 gender-balanced business schools on the 20-first Gender Balance Scorecard

20-FIRST is a global leading gender balance consultancy firm and advises companies on “modern leadership and organizational effectiveness”. The data for the Scorecard is based on the Financial Times Ranking data over the past two years.

Of the top 20 business schools assessed, the HKUST Business School scored the highest percentage of female faculty (30% Female / 70% Male), ahead of Harvard Business School and Yale School of Management. Meanwhile, it showed 11 of the top 20 business schools have balanced their student gender populations in their MBA programs (i.e. a maximum of 60% of any gender). The greatest improvement went to HKUST with a 7% leap in female student intake (37% Female / 63% Male).

As an international leader in business education, we will continue to play an active role in promoting gender balance.
